no blog for a while - not much to tell, really. work continues for both of us as usual - but, and this is kind of nice, i imagine that sometime in the next couple of weeks we'll be telling our friends about all of this. rosh has skills block coming up and all of her cohorts are getting a house in skaneateles and we're all going away one weekend. when they notice her avoiding the hot tub, that'll probably be a good tip-off. still, it'll be nice that everyone knows.

the HBO is cancelled in anticipation of much-needed funds for little lervis's arrival. i'll miss it, but not so much that it'll hurt.
i watched roshni hit the bed this evening and grow drowsy in mere seconds. if fatigue is her biggest concern during the pregnancy, we're in calm waters.

roshni went back to work today, but was able to leave at noon. we went to the baseball game (last of the summer) at frontier. the wings won. roshni came home and went straight to sleep for three hours - claimed she was tired, like she's pregnant or something.
ate a salad for dinner, all from food gotten at the coop. her being pregnant is going to help my diet immensely, though i admit i'll probably sneak over to burger king for midnight snacks.
i'm going over all these sites that tell you how the baby will be developing and how the mother will feel and what to look for, etc... i know i sound like i'm the only one that's ever experienced being an expectant father, but all of this is a miracle that i get to watch unfold day by day, week by week. we're only in the first trimester, so i look forward to getting waaaay more psycho in the weeks to come.

winding down in the outer banks. roshni took her last day at the beach, and daddy and i watched georgia tech whoop up on notre dame. that was sweet.
roshni is not looking forward to working pregnant.
sure enough, the pregnancy test stick hasn't magically changed. looks like it's for real.
travel day tomorrow. probably won't post. maybe.

the two lines on the pregnancy test haven't disappeared. we're 24 hours into KNOWING. the immediates have been told. we stayed up 'til 6a this morning simply being excited. the nine month christmas eve has started. here's your bike, but you can't have it until late april or early may.

hello to the world from southern shores, nc! roshni and i have been vacationing here since monday afternoon, after taking a red-eye from seattle - we'd attended the wedding of one of roshni's college friends.
it's no secret that we've been trying to have a baby recently. it's no secret that we've been frustrated thus far. the first month, we did everything we should - test for ovulation, git bizzay when ovulating, don't drink, don't smoke (what do you do?), etc... ad nauseum, ad infinitum. we were the case study on how NOT to get pregnant when trying to get pregnant. yep, we worried.
the second month, we were hoping for immaculate conception. we took it REALLY easy. behold, in the second month, joel and roshni rested.
not to give away the ending to this post, but i guess we did something right during the third month. we relaxed without being lazy. we did the deed but without artificial urgency. on thursday, after dipping a stick in a cup of roshni's liquid waste, we discovered that roshni is...it would seem...
